MAGAZINE LIBRARY X /// 2012

To my great surprise and pleasure, I was recently asked if a couple of my zines (12 and Run to the Hills) could be included in Magazine Library 10. Hell yeah! It's a pop up exhibition celebrating magazine and print culture and it looks awesome. Unfortunately, it's in Tokyo so I can't go but if any of you happen to be there between 3rd - 13th of May, do pop your heads in and say hi!

TOTALLY TITS

NOSTALGIA

I recently acquired this along with a bunch of other cool stuff from my grans. It reminds me so much of childhood. In a lecture on my MA last year by Laura Carlin, she said that so much of her work is informed by her childhood. It was a really inspirational lecture and I find myself agreeing with her more and more by the day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY POPS

Recently I've been playing around with collage. I've been exploring ways of adding texture to my work by combining drawing with cut out shapes. It's quite hands on and a lot of fun. It reminds me a lot of play group when you'd just use any material you could lay your hands on. This was a birthday card I did recently for my dad. No prizes for guessing how old he was...

COMPUTER SAYS 'NO!'

A few editorial ideas I've been working up recently. They all sort of relate to the trials and tribulations we go through on a daily basis with computers...

STUFF FAIR

Myself and few friends were recently invited to pitch a stall at Plymouth College of Art's 'Stuff Fair'. The AOI were using the venue to exhibit Image 35 so there were a great deal of treats to feast your eyes upon.

SEAGULLS OF FALMOUTH

They really do get everywhere. In yer chip packets, the bins, I even see'd em take a kids ice cream off em while it was still in their hand!

FUN TYPE

I've been doing some typography based work for a coffee company and although I didn't end up using this particular type, I'm quite pleased with it.

While I was at it, I did a yoga type too. Trying to keep it fun and playful at the moment.
